Service Support and Camaraderie
We are a small group of Veterans dedicated to supporting past and present members of the United States Marine Corps, those who have served with Marines and their respective families who currently reside in Washington State.
We are a completely volunteer organization that relies on individual and corporate donations to provide our support services. These services include: academic grants and scholarships to Marines who are pursuing educational goals and grants to Marines who are experiencing financial difficulties.
We also provide venues for Marines to gather together and maintain the camaraderie of shared service and sacrifice.
Although we coordinate with and provide support to active duty and reserve US Marine Corps units stationed in Washington, we have no official affiliation with or receive any funds from the United States Marine Corps or US Department of Defense.
Anyone who is interested in supporting our mission is welcome to join the organization and attend our events. We do not assess dues or require donations.

★ Support Group Enjoys Mariners Victory at T-Mobile Park
On July 19, thirty Support Group members and guests traveled to T-Mobile Park to watch the Mariners defeat the Giants 6–3.
Special guests included Sgt. Sanchez and five poolees from the Yakima Recruiting Station, all of whom are scheduled to ship to Marine Corps Boot Camp in August. For many of the poolees, this was their very first Major League Baseball game.
The group was also honored to have members of the Veterans Office staff from Central Washington University join them for the day.
★ Support Group Presents Educational Awards at Highline College
On July 8, 2026, our Support Group presented two educational awards at Highline College.
The annual Kevin Gunderson Scholarship was awarded to Sonja, a Marine veteran (Avionics Technician on UH-1/AH-1) who was unable to attend in person but participated virtually.
A second Educational Assistance Grant was presented to Angel, a deserving Marine Reservist who drills in Yakima while attending college and working at Home Depot.
Both recipients are hardworking individuals with bright futures, and we are proud to support them as they pursue their educational goals.
